In our LA Expedition time we will be finishing our beginning of the year (BOY) writing benchmarks to see what our writing currently looks like, learning about looking at texts more closely. We will practice underlining words to determine unknown words, asking questions and writing questions, answering our questions and writing statements, and taking. We are working specifically on remembering to put capital letters at the beginning of sentences, using a complete thought, and using the correct punctuation at the end of the sentence. We will also begin to learn the close reading protocol.
In Math our students will be reviewing word problems and subtraction. If you discover your child is struggling, please send me an email or note so that I am aware of their challenges and can assist them, especially since they will be working with Kumu Folau (firstname.lastname@example.org) regularly in math, it makes it easier for me to be aware. Thank you!
